Evidently I need to get into the habit of blogging more often. So, what's going on at Goblin Games?
Conventions
We're currently jammed in between of Armageddon Tauranga (last week,) and Armageddon Palmerston North (this coming weekend.) While events like this are great for our sales and cashflow, taking time away from the store means the orders build up in my absence. I just want to thank all our new and existing loyal customers for their patience during this time. I'm working my hardest (7 days a week!) to make sure you get your orders as soon as possible.
Preorders & Secret Lairs
I've recently added the ability to offer preorders for upcoming products, backorders for out of stock products, and special items like Magic: the Gathering Secret Lairs. Going forward, we're going to try to offer every new Secret Lair that is released. Preordering these through Goblin Games will let us know how many we should order, andwe'll take care of the shipping and import taxes. Check it out for yourself; we price the drops based on the price of the Drop, not on the cards contained within.
Signage
If you've driven by the store, you may have had trouble spotting it (not unusual, we're off the street and Google Maps has been known to send people the wrong way.) This will soon be a problem of the past! We're getting some signs installed; one on the street, and another above our door. We'll be clearly visible as you drive up Adelaide Road.
Events
We know you've been waiting patiently to be able to play Friday Night Magic and Prerelease tournaments at Goblin Games. Once we have our signs put up, our last requirement to join the Wizards Play Network will be fulfilled, and we'll be all in on running events in store. To get us started we'll be running drafts for Friday Night Magic, and Casual Commander at least one night of the week. After School Pokémon has also been requested, and if you have any other ideas for events, TCG or otherwise, please let me know at admin@goblingames.nz.
New Products
Having got on top of Magic, Pokémon and D&D we'll be looking to add other product ranges. We have access to Yu-Gi-Oh!, Flesh and Blood, Malifaux, Games Workshop and many others. If you're a customer of Goblin Games and would like to purchase your favourite games from us, please let us know what they are!
A Personal Note
When writing content for the website like this, or in communication with customers over email or message, I often fall into using "we" when referring to Goblin Games. I just want everyone to know that I'm the owner and sole operator of Goblin Games; providing an accessible way for you all to get the games, cards and dice you need is what I am passionate about, however it is very hard and lonely work. I want to thank everyone who has popped by the store to say hi, or who has taken the time to leave a review on Google. Knowing that my hard work is appreciated really helps.
